Joomla! 1.7 Beta1 可讓系統管理者及擴充套件開發者做先期測試及錯誤回報，同時讓 1.6.4 版的使用者能夠透過後台的更新功能測試更新至 1.7 的過程。如同以往的提醒，這個版本並不建議用於正式運作的網站平台。
Joomla! 主站預計於 7 月 19 日釋出 Joomla! 1.7 GA 版（general availability：全面上市），同時公布後續時程：
- 8/10：Joomla! 1.6.x 生命週期結束，產品支援即將停止。
- 2012 年 1 月：下一個 Joomla! 主要版本釋出。
- 2012 年 4 月：Joomla! 1.5 版步入尾聲。
